Where does the accessory wire for a stereo connect to on a boat?
Hello, I am installing a stereo system on my boat but when I removed the old stereo it only had a power and ground. Where can I connect the accessory wire? Boats don’t have an ignition ACC…I have been told I can connect both 12v and 12vACC to the same power but I don’t want to have to reset all of the presets, clock, etc..every time I power it off. I apologize in advance if this is a moron question heh. Thanks!

most boats *do* have an ignition ACC; standard convention followed by most engine manufacturers since the eighties is, a purple wire connected to keyswitch terminal “A”.
But on a boat, you want the stereo to work whether the key is “on” or not, so just find an empty slot in your fuse box and hook it up.
