Caribbean Set To Remain Worlds Most Popular Cruise Destination For 2010

For many years the Caribbean has proved an extremely popular destination for European and North American vacationers alike who are seeking to escape their harsher regional winters in order to grab some winter sunshine – and this year it seems set to be no exception. Western Caribbean tours frequently take tourists to popular US city locations such as New Orleans and Tampa, whilst in the East of the region many cruise liners will also stop by at the numerous ports of Florida State. West Indian islands are also naturally a great draw for cruise liners and their guests, with locations such as Jamaica, Antigua, and Costa Rica – and more recently even Cuba – gradually emerging as a possible drop off point on some cruise package vacations.

On a cruise holiday in the Caribbean, visitors are treated to crystal clear waters offering the opportunity for swimming and snorkelling on exotic reefs, with boating, fishing and yachting also proving to be popular activities in the Caribbean ocean. Pure sandy white beaches offer an excellent chance for vacationers to catch some rays whilst enjoying a cool drink, or for the more adventurous horse riding is available in some beach areas of the Caribbean.

Caribbean cruises are seeking to ensure that they offer something for both families and their children, young couples seeking a romantic break, or older passengers who are searching for a relaxing vacation in the sunshine. With a wide variety of locations to explore and a broad variety of on board entertainment and activities, cruise companies are increasingly seeking to expand their target market and offer a unique experience to multiple social demographics – that in previous years may not have pursued this particular type of vacation. Which such a varied program of events both on and off board, Caribbean cruises look set to remain the most popular destination for cruise liners during 2010.
