transatlantic crossing in a sailing catamaran?

I have a goal i am very eager to reach but for my safety, would like to ask an expert. my goal is to have a transatlantic crossing in a sailing catamaran, what size boat should i have, how many crew, and if there are any boats that are able to cross safely and meet specifications what are they? i know i ask complicated questions but i don’t want to go on only one opinion.

What are your thoughts on the subject, and I'll send you a free gift.

  1. works 4 me Says:

questions for you to answer first. 1 how old are you? 2 how much sea time do you have? 3 any "storm time"? and I mean cyclone type conditions, 4 why a "cat"? 5 you said "other people" why?,, do you have any man management skills?? 6 can you use the stars to navigate by? 7 do you know any thing about sailing??
Now answer these then others can guide you, These are but a few questions you must answer,, and truthfully, matey once you go over that Horizon you are in a very cold nasty world, and mother nature loves fools and ill prepared,
I too have a similar mission and I’ve 15 yrs sea time. there is a lot to think about and plan, food, water, clothing, different scenarios, loss of life .,sickness, fire, collision lost at sea (yep it happens) DON’T depend on gps, that goes ape shit and your stuffed, learn to navigate by the stars, Its good for the brain.
Out there you are on your own, you have to plan days in advance to survive the present day.
Good luck and plan plan plan, read as much as you can even from volvo round the world races, go back and read up on the first single handed sailors,(i know you doing the crew thing) but the problems faced are the same.
    good luck to you
