What is the law for pulling a tube behind a jet ski?

I am going to a Lake in a week and I need to know if you have mirrors on your jet ski, do you have to have a spotter as well? And do you have to hold up an orange flag when the person falls off the tube? If you don’t know, any ideas where I can find out? Thanks!

Be advised that lake has a lot of standing timber that has long since broken off at the water line. Depending on the water level when you’re there, could be lots of open water with trees just inches from the surface.

Get a map and pay attention.

For towing, you must have an observer 13 years or older
    *OR*
be equipped with a review mirror at least 4" high & 4" across.

    No flag.

Texas boating regs can be found at
    http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us

Regs applicable to all motorboats apply to PWC, plus the following:
*PFDs must be worn by all occupants.
*Person being towed is an "occupant" so you must have an empty seat available.
*Illegal to operate PWC between sunset and sunrise.
*Illegal to operate PWC within 50 of another vessel, person, platform or shore except at no wake speed.
*Illegal to jump wakes recklessly or unnecessarily close.

Especially note that it’s illegal to operate in a circular course around fishermen or swimmers. For your own personal safety, I’d advise you to give fishermen a wide clearance — it’s a big lake, no need to crowd anybody. About a 60% probability of finding firearms aboard any bass boat you encounter.

And for pete’s sake learn what a "NO-WAKE" bouy looks like, and what it means.
