How many estimates should I get before hiring a cleaning crew for my yacht? Or should I have my help do it?

Tsunami, people get paid to clean as it is their job. If I lower myself to the job of a common I’d be taking away someones job.

I hire my cleaning out. My yacht is 60′. To clean end-to-end, inside and out, takes a work crew of 5 a full day. People telling you to do it yourself have no idea how much work is involved, and using the right products makes the difference. I’d ask for references from the company. Call those references. Ask about the thoroughness of their work, if they thought the rate was fare, what size is their boat, what kind of cleaning are they doing (outside/inside, washing, waxing, polishing, etc). Also, ask if they are a member of the BBB. If so, check it. Make sure they are bonded and licensed too. Had one company claim they were, I didn’t check, a worker stole some items of value off the MY. I asked for the insurance company info and then found out they really didn’t have insurance. The items stolen were beyond what they could afford. I sued them, I won, they filed for bankruptcy and closed.
